ParaScale Managed Service Provider Solutions

ParaScale is an ideal solution for service providers who are looking to add shared storage to their offerings. With easy to build storage clouds that can start small and scale to Petabytes a service provider can create a differentiated offering in minutes.

Standard Protocol Support. ParaScale leverages standard protocols like HTTP, WebDAV and NFS so customers can easily take advantage of shared storage offerings. There is no need to recompile or change applications, simple mount the storage cloud as you would any other device.

Create Private Clouds. With ParaScale you can create private clouds for your customers who are co-locating within your facility. A private cloud is specific to that customer and can be tuned to provide perfect performance while keeping data and access secure.

Application specific clouds. ParaScale can be tuned to match the requirements of the customer or application by selecting the appropriate commodity hardware when creating the cloud. Faster systems create a faster cloud and a unique offering for your customers. Even better, you choose the hardware from your trusted source and continue to leverage purchasing agreements and management tools.

Pooled Storage with Virtual File Systems for Secure Access. ParaScale is designed to support 1000’s of virtual file systems that share one physical pool of hardware. This provides amazing flexibility and security while keeping costs low. Your customers can share the underlying hardware but not access or see each other’s data. Secure file systems, each with their own authentication rules, prevent mingling of customer access or data.

Virtual file systems do not lock physical capacity. By using virtual file systems you can implement just-in-time storage purchases. For example, a 10TB virtual file system can be created for a single customer against 5TBs of shared physical disk. Only the data that is copied to the file system takes up physical space. Overtime the 5TB volume capacity will increase. Once it hits a specified threshold an alert is triggered to remind the administrator to add to the storage pool. New disks with greater capacity and lower prices can be added saving money and delaying costly early over-provisioning.
