ParaScale Customer Case Studies
Carpathia Hosting Service providers striving to offer cloud services to their customers need to sort out the hype from reality and understand the strengths and weaknesses of different solutions. Carpathia Hosting, is a leading provider of enterprise managed hosting service has recently launched a unique service that unlocks the true potential of cloud computing. It is comprised of two components – Carpathia AlwaysOn™, using Carpathia’s managed services and Carpathia InstantOn™, utilizing Carpathia’s cloud computing platform. Using ParaScale software, Carpathia is able to tightly integrate computing and storage to provide a clean and elegant cloud infrastructure that significantly improves manageability and performance. This solution, called Cloud Orchestration, allows Carpathia to differentiate itself amongst other service providers. Read the complete case study called, “Cloud Computing and the ParaScale Platform” Stanford Genome Technology Center The team at the Stanford Genome Technology Center has been conducting DNA sequencing and genomic analysis research for the Human Genome Project since 1993. Their latest generation of Gene Sequencers generates a phenomenal amount of data and the team struggled with ways to manage it. Traditional storage solutions that Stanford had been using to store these high quality images were not cost effective. As a consequence, the research staff would perform a run of the Gene Sequencer and then discard the images after the analysis had been performed to reuse the storage. By implementing a a private cloud using the ParaScale Cloud Storage Software, the Stanford team was able to aggregate heterogeneous servers and form a massively scalable storage pool that can be viewed, accessed and managed easily from a single point. The Gene Sequences, which are producing massive amounts of data, write directly to the cloud, thus solving their growing need of storing and processing data with greater speed and efficiency.
